SolarWall Projects

Project 1

Design & Installation of SolarWall® Collectors on Exterior Walls –Bldg. 16 A/B and Bldg. 28

Defense Distribution Depot, Tracy, California

Bldg. 16 A/B: In July 2014, E-Corp began this 8-month USACE Sacramento District design-build project to install SolarWall on two buildings at the Defense Distribution Depot. On Bldg. 16 A/B (pictured top), E-Corp installed approximately 17,900 SF of single- and two-stage SolarWall® systems on the southeast and southwest exterior walls. Work included penetrating the wall in 16 air intake locations and ducting the heated air directly into the building.

SolarWall® Size: 17,900 SF
Impacted Bldg. Area: 340,000 SF
Bldg. Type: Warehouse
Project Cost: $1,144,208.00
Pay Back Period: 13.5 years

Bldg. 28: E-Corp is also installing approximately 10,000 SF of single- and two-stage SolarWall® systems on the southwest exterior walls of Bldg. 28 (pictured bottom). Work includes penetrating the wall in 10 air intake locations and ducting the heated air into the 5 AHUs where a damper and a DDC control system were installed to control the solar-heated air. During the summer months, both systems are equipped with the ability to vent the heated air to the outside, leaving the inside of the building cool for the workers.

SolarWall® Size: 10,000 SF
Impacted Bldg. Area: 65,000 SF
Bldg. Type: Warehouse
Project Cost: $867,168.00
Pay Back Period: 19.5 years
